The Cree Valley Community Woodlands Trust (CVCWT) has a vision of establishing a Forest Habitat Network from source to sea which incorporates a mosaic of native broadleaf woodland and other habitats.
Cree Valley Community Woodlands: Feasibility Study
A Feasibility Study and draft project plan on the Cree Valley Community Woodlands was carried out by Bidwells in January 1999. The document sets out the aims of the project, the result of a public consultation exercise and feedback from various interest groups. The vision is explained, together with the project objectives. The constraints and opportunities offered by the project are discussed.

Volunteering
Volunteers are essential in the delivery of the Cree Valley Woodlands project. Under the guidance of CVCWT staff, volunteers have the opportunity to learn new skills, make new friends and enjoy healthy exercise in the fresh air and wonderful scenery of the Cree Valley. Volunteering in the woodlands takes place on Wednesdays, from 10am to 3pm (see "Latest News" page).
Working at their own pace, volunteers have the satisfaction of knowing that they are contributing to the enhancement of the CVCWT woodlands whilst taking part in healthy exercise. Tasks include, tree guard removal, conifer weeding, tree planting and bird/bat box construction and placement.
There are also volunteering opportunities involving monitoring and manning information stands for events which take place outwith the Wednesday volunteering day.
For more information contact Linda or Pete at the office.
Become a Friend of the Woodlands and we will plant a tree in your name
Join CVCWT and a tree will be planted in the woodlands in your name, which will grow on to become a part of the Cree Valley network of woodlands from "source to sea". You will be able to see the plot where your tree is planted but your individual tree will not be identifiable. A certificate will be provided as a record. Trees planted should be seen as a contribution to the woodlands. Annual membership is £10 - Family membership is £15.
Guided walks can be organised exclusively for members.
Memorial/Commemorative Trees
A tree can be planted in memory of a person or event. For £10 a tree will be planted in our woodlands. You will be able to see the plot where your tree is planted but the individual tree will not be identifiable. A certificate will be provided as a record. Trees planted should be seen as a contribution to the woodlands.
Donations
Woodland habitat management is costly and donations are always greatly appreciated.
